Why the Arts Matter: Community Film Event Wednesday, May 31

“Why the Arts Matter,” our documentary on the benefits of arts education in Nebraska public schools, debuts 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 31 at Auburn High School.

Our 30-minute film explores various art programs across the state and the positive impact they have on thousands of public school students each year. It particularly focuses on how students who have strong exposure to the arts do better academically and are more satisfied in school. Immediately following the film, there will be a panel discussion that will focus on how the greater community can work provide support for The Arts education and related programs for students in Auburn and the surrounding communities.

This will be the first of two times this year Nebraska Loves Public Schools will be promoting The Arts in Auburn. We will return as a supporting partner in Hear Nebraska’s The Good Living Tour Saturday, June 10.

For the fourth #NELPSLive event, News Channel Nebraska has partnered with us to encourage community members to generate awareness and support for public schools. This film and its accompanying panel discussion are part of a special event series between News Channel Nebraska and Nebraska Loves Public Schools. The event is free and open to the public. Tune in live to the broadcast at http://ncnsportsnow.com/
